School Programs

Each year, Street-Level partners with several elementary and high schools across Chicago to give students a unique opportunity to develop media arts and technology skills. Our in-school media arts programs stimulate student learning, enhance media and digital literacy, and provide a space for students to express themselves in a creative way. Programs are also aligned with national and state learning standards and equip youth with the critical and creative thinking skills they need to compete in the digital age.

Our programs include:

  • In-class media arts projects developed with collaborating teachers and integrated into the core curriculum to support student learning and achievement.
  • After-school media arts workshops focused on creative, student-generated content that facilitates educational and emotional learning.
  • Media arts electives provided as semester or year-long independent classes during the school day.
  • Professional development series that empowers teachers with technical knowledge and instructional design skills to execute effect media arts integration curriculum.

Currently, our school partners include:

  • Clemente High School
  • Dunne Technology Academy
  • Dvorak Technology Academy
  • Gillespie Elementary
  • Josephinum Academy
  • Juarez High School
  • Julian High School
  • Vaughn High School
