Run for Street-Level

Join Team Street-Level in the 2012 Bank of America Chicago Marathon!
Sunday, October 7, 2012

For the first time, Street-Level Youth Media will field a team for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. And we want YOU on our team.

Whether you’re already planning to run the Chicago Marathon, or if it’s an item on the ol’ bucket list, join Team Street-Level and help us bring media arts education and literacy to underserved youth across Chicago.

BENEFITS

  • Registration fee while registration is still open ($150 value)
  • Free training program with CARA, the Chicago Area Runners Association ($200 value)
  • Group runs with your teammates
  • Welcome party, monthly meet-ups, and wrap party
  • Team Street-Level training shirt and water bottle
  • Gear drop on race day
  • Individual donation page and fundraising tips
  • Prizes for top fundraisers
  • Complimentary DVD of Team Street-Level on race day produced by Street-Level youth
  • Good karma!

FUNDRAISING

Street-Level asks runners to set a fundraising goal of $1000 and use their best efforts to achieve — or exceed! — that goal. We will provide fundraising strategies and support along the way. (For example, you could ask donors to sponsor each mile you run. At $40 per mile, that would be $1040!)

Recruit a friend to the team and receive a $100 fundraising credit!

REGISTRATION

To register for Team Street-Level, sign up on the Chicago Marathon website. Street-Level will either apply your registration fee to your fundraising goal or reimburse the cost.

You may also download a PDF of the application and mail/fax back to Street-Level. We will then register you.

Because Street-Level is new to the Chicago Marathon, we are not yet listed in the drop-down menu of charities. In the field that asks, "If you are running or raising funds on behalf of a charity that is not currently affiliated with the 2012 Bank of America Chicago Marathon, we would love to hear about it", enter Street-Level Youth Media. (We'll be on the list next week!)

Once you’re registered, we’ll contact you to set up your individual donation page that you can share with friends, family, and colleagues. From now until race day, Street-Level will provide team training and fundraising tips to support you in achieving your goals.
