Street-Level Youth Media is a non-profit, media arts literacy organization serving Chicago's youth.  We teach audio engineering, mixing, video production, digital photography, online journalism, and more.  If you are between the ages of 12 through 24, all of our programs and services are free.

If you live in Chicago and are between 12 - 24 years old, come take part in one or all of our media arts programs, book a private studio session, use our computer lab or join one of our clubs.  We also host an open-mic on the first Friday of each month.

What To Know Before Race Day


STREET-LEVEL ASSIGNMENT: FINISH LINE
 
Check-In: 7:00am  (meet at Street-Level at 6:45 if you would like to lock up your personal belongings) The first runners are out the gate at 8:30, but being there at 7 is to help set up and mix up gatorade.

Check Out: approx. 10:00am

LOCATION & PARKING
Burr Elementary School - 1621 West Wabansia.

Public transportation is highly recommended, if driving parking limited street parking is available in the area - please watch for no parking signs because of therace.  Click here for additional transportation/parking information.  

WEATHER AND ATTIRE
Be sure to wear layers and comfortable clothing. Please wear the volunteer shirt you will receive upon check-in on race day. Currently we are looking at a beautiful day on race day: High of 70 & Low of 60.

CHECK-IN 
Please arrive promptly at 7am and proceed to the Volunteer Tent pictured in the map.  Volunteer tent is located on the in the play ground of the school      

What To Know During Check In
STEP 1: CHECK IN
Meet us at the Volunteer Tent.

STEP 2: VOLUNTEER GEAR
Once checked in, get your volunteer gear.

STEP 3: HOSPITALITY
Water and light snacks are available for all. Once ready, please stand next to the "finish line" lollipop sign.  From there you will be escorted to the proper location.
What To Know During Volunteer Shift

Once at the finish line, you will receive instruction from the RAM Racing staff member. Before the race you will be setting up bottled water & sports drink for raceparticipants.  During the race you will be passing out the water & sports drink and towards the end of the race you will be helping to clean the area.  

Some volunteers at the finish line will be passing out a runner refresh bag to race participants filled with post race snacks.
